Ekiti ASUSS Presents Items To Vulnerable Children's Home to Mark Teacher's Day.

As part of Activities to mark this year's World Teachers Day which comes up on the 5th of October every year, the Academic Staff Union of Secondary Schools, ASUSS has presented items of various kinds to the Winning Foundation Children Home, Usi Ekiti.

The materials which included a bag of rice, groceries and an anniversary cake were presented to the foundation during the dedication of projects including boreholes and 12 lockup shops by Aseyege vulnerable group, under the auspices of winning children foundation.

The foundation also presented ASUSS Chairman, Comrade Sola Adigun an award of honour for his contributions to the welfare of vulnerable children.

During the presentation, ASUSS chairman, Comrade Sola Adigun appealed to philanthropists and public spirited individuals to support foundations and people who have dedicated their lives to giving hope to homeless children who roam the streets.

Comrade Adigun explained that such a gesture was not just being done for God, but in the interest of peace, security and stability of the society.

He noted that such if  there was no intervention to rescue and provide hope for such children, they turn out to be criminals, while their valuable endowment would become a threat to the society.

He commended the promoter of the Winning foundation Initiative for the sacrifice she had volunteered to make in the overall interest of mankind.

The promoter of the foundation, Mrs Adeyemi thanked ASUSS for always lending a supporting hand to the project of raising forgotten children which she had undertaken.

Mrs Adeyemi gave account of how she started the project from her meagre salary as a teacher having received the call from God.

She said the winning foundation had raised hundreds of children who are today doing well in their various fields and are already raising families.

In the ASUSS team were the treasurer, Pastor Adeola Augustine, Chairman of ASUSS cooperative society, Pastor Okunola and the Union's Assistance Secretary, Mr Ajewole Michael.
