In Ondo, Women Groups Stage Walk Against Rape


Coalition of women groups and organisation in ondo state today embarked on a walk against rape in ondo state.

The women groups include Nawoj ,fida, FOMWAN,NCWS,CSOS.among others 

The walk which  started from the governors office Alagbaka terminated at the government house where women expressed displeasure with the incessant cases of rapes and murder of girls and women  in the country 

In her submission the chairperson ,Nigeria association of women journalist Nawoj Mrs doris olumoko advocate stringent punishment for rapists.

Mrs olumoko also appealed to parents to adequately protect their wards against all forms of abuses.

On her part ,chairperson international federation of women lawyer ,Mrs Bola ogundadegbe said the child rights laws had been domesticated  since 2013 and the Chief judge also establish the family court to make the law more effective.

Also the Executive Director ,kids and teens resource centre ,Martin Mary falana urged government to be effective in ensuring implementation of laws in place to protect women 

Addressing the women at the ministry of justices ,the attorney  general and commissioner for justice ,kola olawoye SAN affirmed that rapists risked life imprisonment and death sentence . 

The wife of the governor is not left out has she lent her voice to the  need for change in the society perception against rape victims .

    We need to be protected from all forms of abuses from the opposite sex .
