Ondo NAWOJ EXCO Celebrates One Year In Office



Members of the Nigerian Women Association of Nigeria, Nawoj, Ondo state chapter on Sunday 28th June, gathered at the Mary Queen's of Angels Catholic Church, Akure to appreciate God in celebration of first anniversary of the current executive committe

The Nawojians, goergously dressed in their orange and green colour code were in a happy mood as they arrived promptly for the Thanksgiving Mass presided over by the Director, social communications, Catholic Diocese of Ondo, Reverend Father Leo Aregbesola.

The mass was conducted in line with all the covid19 protocols including wearing of facemasks by both clerics and members of the Nawoj.

In a sermon, Reverend Father Aregbesola who commended the current executive committe of Ondo Nawoj for its lofty achievements in one year urged other professional bodies to emulate the women journalists association especially in the area of philantropy

Rev. Fr Aregbesola also appreciated the association for its dogged campaign against rape and other violence against women.

In an interview, the chairman, ondo State council of NUJ, Prince Adetona Aderoboye lauded the current Exco of the Nawoj for not betraying the trust reposed in them and commended members for bringing smiles to the faces of the vulnerable in the state.

In a goodwill message, An Ex-officer of the association, Mrs Fatima Muraina the current Exco of Nawoj for bringing back the lost glory of the association urging them to achieve greater feats.

Chairperson of the association, Mrs Doris Olumoko thanked members for their support, understanding and sacrifices without which the Exco could not have achieved much.

Highpoints of the thanksgiving mass were special ministration by the church choir and prayers for all members of the Association.
