Workers, Students Of CAC Grammar School Ondo Groan Under Decaying Facility


Workers,parents and students of CAC Grammar School in the ancient city of  Ondo, in Ondo state are calling on government,old students association and members of the public to rescue the school from total collapse due to infrastructure decay.

Milestonenews reporter who visited the forty two year school reports that it has become a shadow of itself as the school hall, classrooms ,staff rooms are almost completely dilapidated .

Roofs of the buildings ,ceilings ,doors and walls have given away and fallen apart.


Lizards ,snakes and other reptiles have taken over the school hall as the structure is almost gone .

Some of the classrooms having close to about 30 students have few furniture compelling majority of the students to remain standing during the classwork.

A visitor to the school who said he came for the purpose of research described the situation of the school as inhuman, barbaric and posing serious threat to the safety of the children if not urgently addressed .

Some students who spoke with Milestonenews including ,Adeniran Tosin and Olufunso Bola said that the condition was getting worse everyday because ,help was not coming from any quarters.


The students who explained that to secure a seat in the class, a student must come very early and guide the chair and table through out the learning period, said their daily experience was horrible, but they had no capacity to change their schools.

Also a teacher who spoke on the condition of anonymity said that during raining season ,teachers and students would run helter skelter in search of where to take refuge from.the shower.

Our reporter spoke with a parent, Mr Felix Akinnola  who bemoaned the situation which he said could not guarantee the safety of their children. 

" Whenever my two children are going to school, I am always full of prayer for God to return them safely as I am always afraid any of the buildings could collapse".

He appealed to authorities concern to come to their aid to fix the facilities in the school,while he also appealed to alumni to contribute their widow's might to the school that gave them a good foundation.
